The Client: A large ERP firm

The client is a US-based multinational ERP solutions company with development centers in several countries. The company had taken up a new space in Bengaluru that had to be designed as per their global standards.

The brief to the interior design team was crisp and short – to create a sustainable interior environment that promoted teamwork, collaboration, and innovation. The responsibility came to Beyond Design Architects & Consultants, a firm that has made a name for building eco-conscious living spaces.

Designing to achieve  LEED Platinum

Significantly, the client’s office is located in a  LEED Platinum-certified building. Therefore, all building materials and design techniques employed are focused on reducing the carbon footprint. The interior and floor design also had to conform to LEED Platinum standards.

The objective was to bring out the functionality of all the areas - workspaces, conference rooms, training rooms, and recreational areas - through the smart use of materials. Every aspect of the interior design plan (including flooring) had to be crafted to take maximum advantage of natural light.

The design team’s focus dovetailed well with Shaw Contract’s Smarter Impact framework of being knowledge-led, human-centered, and optimistic. For the floor, the design team chose the Colour at Work collection that had the right mix of traditional colours and pixellated patterns. The tiles merged well with the overall design theme.

Result: A palette of colourful possibilities

The design should never overwhelm but entice the occupant to work comfortably. At the new office, the floor design drew energetic appeal and sparked creativity, opening up a palette of colourful possibilities. The happy result lived up to the expectations of teamwork, collaboration, and innovation while maintaining the highest standards of environmental responsibility.
